Privacy
This site has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising. It collects no personal data about you.
What we do not collect
No name, email address, phone number, postal address, precise location, account, comment or user-generated content. There is no registration and no login. We do not build profiles and we do not use third-party trackers.
Data providers never see you
All requests to data providers such as USGS, NOAA and the ECB are made by our server, not by your browser. Your IP address is never sent to them, and no information derived from you is ever included in those requests.
Map tiles — the one exception
The world map loads its background tiles directly from the tile provider, so your browser makes a request to them. That request necessarily reveals your IP address and the part of the map you are looking at. This is unavoidable for any hosted map. It sets no cookies. We plan to remove this exposure by hosting tiles ourselves.
Logs
If server access logs are kept, IP addresses are truncated before being written, so a full address is never stored. Rate limiting uses a salted hash of the truncated address, with the salt rotated daily.
How we choose your language
This site is written in English and translated into Turkish. To decide which one to show you, we read the standard language header your browser already sends with every request. It is used for that single decision and is not stored. You can override it at any time with the language switcher at the top of the page.
Cookies and device storage
One cookie, for language only. It is set when you pick a language with the switcher, and also in the rare case where your browser sends no language preference at all and we fall back to English. Your dark or light theme choice is kept in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Nothing else is stored. Separately, an operator session cookie exists for the site's own administration page. It is set only for whoever signs in there, never for visitors, and it is not present on any public page.
Advertising
There is no advertising on this site at the moment, and no advertising script is loaded. If that changes, this page will say so before any such script runs, and a consent message will ask you first.
